Mum and Baby class

Tommy Thumb song for Baby Massage class

During our baby massage classes we sing this song as we massage the fingers. Nursery rhymes are important for young children because they help develop an ear for our language.

Both rhyme and rhythm help kids hear the sounds and syllables in words, which helps kids learn to read!

Ok so your gorgeous baby is a long way from reading and writing at this stage but can brighten mood, benefit brain development, and boost language skills

Plus it’s fun!

Here is a very cheesy video of Tommy Thumb for your viewing pleasure…

Tommy Thumb, Tommy Thumb
Where are you?
Here I am, here I am
How do you do?

Peter Pointer, Peter Pointer
Where are you?
Here I am, here I am
How do you do?

Toby Tall, Toby Tall
Where are you?
Here I am, here I am
How do you do?

Ruby Ring, Ruby Ring
Where are you?
Here I am, here I am
How do you do?

Baby Small, Baby Small
Where are you?
Here I am, here I am
How do you…

Then I usually add a little bit to the song:

Fingers all, fingers all
Where are you?
Here we are , here we are
How do you…

Enjoy xxx

Elaine
